2007-07-04 Day trip to Mt. Mitchell - Independence Day
2007-07-04 Day trip to Mt. Mitchell, NC. This is always a good time to see Platanthera psycodes in North Carolina. Mt. Mitchell is the tallest point in the eastern United States at around 6684 feet tall. The P. psycodes were not as plentiful nor as pretty as in past years, but they were still quite beautiful. I still did not find the white form, but will be back next year to try again.
