2007-06-10 Powerline cut in Pender County, NC

2007-06-10 Trip to Pender County, NC to vist a powerline cut near B. W. Wells Savannah. Thanks to Kelvin Taylor, a NOC member and North Carolina native who had visited this site last weekend, I was able to join him in photographing seasonal native orchids and other unusual plants. This site is close to the famous B. W. Wells Savannah which no longer exists. It was timbered, drained, and farmed for almost fifty years. Now, the Coastal Land Trust is trying to bring back remnant portions of it so that others can enjoy the wonderful native plants of the region.
