2007-04-15 and 16. Orchids in Florida

2007-04-15 and 16. Orchids in Florida. Seen on the field trips while attending the 6th annual Native Orchid Conference annual symposium in Miami, Florida.

The photos of April 15, were taken in a fenced in, restricted area in a Miami neighborhood! Do you have flowers like this in your neighborhood?

The photos of April 16, were taken in The Fakahatchee Strand (Collier County, Florida). This is an unique area of swamps and slightly raised areas that is most suitable for orchids and bromelliads - actually called the Orchid capital and Bromelliad capital of the United States.
