The first 6 of these are of the Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala First of the 21 missions and known as the Mother of the Missions, Mission San Diego de Alcala was founded on July 16, 1769 by Blessed Junipero Serra. It was designated as a Minor Basilica in 1976 by Pope Paul VI. The Mission today is an active Catholic Parish in the Diocese of San Diego. For more on the beautiful mission please see the website at: http://www.missionsandiego.com/ #7 is the San Diego skyline from the Broadway Pier taken around 1981-82 #8 is the Junípero Serra Museum, in Presidio Park located on the hill above Old Town San Diego.
