Jill, it's rather fascinating viewing a B&W floral gallery!
This seems to free the eye and the mind from the tyranny
of colour and encourages concentration on other photographic
elements, like tone, texture, contrast, etc.
Your range of greytones is especially impressive.
The florals have more substance and impact because of your
masterful use of lower key, higher contrast and underexposure.
In addition it has enhanced the mood and atmosphere.
And is also strong on compositional strength and perspective.
Outstanding!
