Tewkesbury Abbey

Tewkesbury lies at the confluence of the Rivers Severn and Avon. There has been a church on this site since Saxon times though the predominant architectural style is Norman. The original Lady Chapel was lost at the time of the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539. The abbey has the proportions of a cathedral but now functions as a parish church.
