In the foreground is the island of Riddarholmen with its church with latticed spire, the Riddarholmskyrkan. Behind and to the left is the old town area of Gamla Stan. The spire roughly in the centre of the picture is that of the Tyska (German) Kyrkan. To the left is the ornate tower of the cathedral, Storkyrkan. Two large cruise ships can be seen further back berthed at the Viking Line terminal.
