The Parson's Bridge is seen partly obscured by the autumn foliage. The foliage also hides the deep drop to the River Rheidol some distance below. The bridge once provided a short cut for the minister making his way to the nearby church (St. John's at Ysbyty Cynfyn). The original bridge consisted of little more than a long plank of wood and crossing it must have been a terrifying experience. This modern version had to be brought in by helicopter as the surrounding terrain is so inhospitable.
