My father-in-law wanted to see the aurora borealis after seeing my photos. He got lucky and when we arrived at our home in Lac du Flambeau late the evening of August 5th, there was a very brief (less than an hour) display in the west. I experimented with longer exposures to get better exposures with less noise.
