Photographers seem to enjoy taking pictures of old things. I certainly do. Whether it’s a barn, farm implement, church or a classical old building there can be a lot of beauty in these old treasures. Early morning or late evening light enhances the color and brings out the beauty of rusty metal, weathered wood, brick and stone. I like to capture these “moments in time” whenever I see them because they soon disappear. Many of the barns and artifacts I have photographed over the past 35 years are no longer around. My hope is that by capturing these images digitally or on film, I am doing my part to preserve them for future generations. Some people may call these objects junk but to me they are treasures from the past.

To make my photography available to publishers, advertisers and web designers I partnered in 2009 with IstockPhoto. My photographs have since been used by National Geographic,  Nature Conservancy,   Sierra Club,   Discovery Channel,   National Public Radio,   People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals,   and numerous other national, regional and local publishers.
