Every photographer likes to travel to exotic locations. Right here on Pbase you can view wonderful images from every country in the world. I enjoy hiking and the beauty that our many national parks and forests have to offer. However, I think many photographers forget to look at the beauty that is close at hand.

My town of Edgewood in Washington State offers a variety of opportunities for photography. The city is mostly rural and quiet with a few farms scattered about. When the lighting is good I will head out on foot with my camera. There is an abundance of wildlife in Edgewood ranging from Coyotes, Deer and Mountain Beaver to Hawks and Bald Eagles. Migratory birds visit in their designated season. Wildflowers abound in our many woods and meadows. Wetlands attract a variety of Geese, Ducks and Blue Herons.

This gallery is dedicated to the photographic opportunities that are close to home. All the images in this gallery were taken within a mile of my home.
