Almost back to the truck camper at the trailhead. Very steep and rocky footing descent, but easier coming down than going up to East Fork Lostine Meadow. Packs were too heavy - too much stuff, including camera gear.

This image (and a few more) was made with a flatbed scanner. Note the shallow depth of field, the great detail in the focal plane, and the dark background. The background is created by using a covering of black velvet supported by a simple wire frame about 8 inches from the bed of the scanner.

Taken on a west facing slope on way to 8,500 feet, on trail behind Crater Lake Lodge.
