Rocky Mountain National Park protects a small portion of the Rocky Mountain Range which stretches almost uninterrupted from Alaska to below the US/Mexico border.

The Continental Divide runs through the middle of the park; the eastern side of the park hosting the tallest mountains and the most dramatic portions of the Trail Ridge Road while the western side of the park is the birthplace of the Colorado River.

Throughout the park there are spectacular mountain and canyon views, the unusual alpine tundra landscapes and abundant plant and animal life.
