On August 2nd I discovered at least 7 red-faced meadowhawks at Hurdman. I showed my photos to Chris Lewis, so on August 5th we returned with our nets to capture these small dragonflies in order to identify them. We identified one as a Cherry-faced Meadowhawk, an uncommon species in Ottawa that isn't usually seen in large numbers.
