We saw a couple of duskywings on the road near Pyramid Lake, including this tattered fellow. There are only three duskywing species in Alberta according to John Acorn's "Butterflies of Alberta"; Afranius Duskywing only occurs in the southern part of the province along the U.S. border, and Dreamy Duskywing lacks the white spots along the forewing, which makes me believe this is the Persius Duskywing.
Note - Ross Layberry has indeed confirmed this as Persius Duskying. Many thanks to Ross for confirming the ID of this species!
