Truly a highlight of the trip. It is a great ride, and fantastic scenery. This is something I will do again. We rode north from the Park HQ where we got our back country permit and went down Mineral Bottom road. We camped at Hardscrabble campsite. Most of the sand washes are near the Green river, so most people ride the trail in a CCW direction like we did. We stopped a lot and took many pictures since the scenery was so good. It took us 6-7 hours to get from the Park HQ all the way around. Jeff checked us out as he headed to Moab. I continued back down the Schaefer Switchbacks and rode the Potash Road back to Moab.
It is hard to describe the scenery here with enough superlatives. All that I can say is that I never expected to see rock formations like this in person.
