Hi Linda, Love your pictures of Hawaii. I was longing to see it as I remembered. I have lived on Oahu for 52 years and your pictures bring back memories. Thanks for posting to the public.

Dear linda,

I see that you saw my completely out of context email that was supposed to go to the person who forwarded the pictures you took. We had been joking on the phone and what u saw was part of an ongoing "humorous" email banter exchange. No offense was meant and I am sorry if you were offended. It is embarassing to me that this happened as you can imagine. This of course is the danger of emails. I hope you forgive the incident. hp

Hi Linda! I keep forgetting to tell you that your family is entirely too good looking! Its wonderful being able to look at these pictures as I feel I get to know better. Its a blessing to have you on these boards! I thank you for all the wisdom and support, and Craig thanks you for the recipes (even if he has to fix them when I can't follow directions) Chat soon, Dawn :)

Hi Linda!
What a lovely webpage. Very nice! I, too, read your post on the WW pages. Bless you too for your successful battle with breast cancer. Which person are you on the photos?
My husband and I want to move to NC I want the beach, but we both like Asheville, too. We go to the Outerbanks - Southern Shores each year, but we don't know where to pick real estate that's affordable for us and still not too far from the ocean. Any ideas on real estate in Wilmington? You may pass my email address on to anyone who may have information for me on this. My husband is a retired U.S.Secret Service agent and I'm a retired writer. Again, your website is lovely and thanks for sharing it.

New to WW Board and read your post. I am in Winston-Salem, with a very dear friend in Wilmington--she's an RN Supervisor at Cape Fear--I'm an RN also. Had breast cancer in 1998, and again April 2005. Loved looking at your pictures, many familiar places. Am going to Atlantic Beach next week--praying for sunshine!

Hi Linda,
Easolo's Sweet Shop AKA "The Pit" as in pit stop. In the mid 50's we spent many a night hanging out at Fasolo's. Once the store closed at night we moved the cars over to White Swan Cleaners and hung out in the parking lot listing to Do Woop, Alan Freed & Jocko on the Radio. We literally spent hours upon hours hanging out at the pit.

I'm not sure whose Merc is pictured, this is the picture looking toward Madison with 21's in the background. Could be Matty Perna's or Jimmy Crezno before he customized his Merc & added a Chrysler Hemi engine. There were several 49, 50 and 51 Merc's. Mine was a Black 1951. This was a result of the James Dean movie Rebel Without a Cause, and yes we all had the red nylon jackets as well.

Also, Linda we didn't live too far from each other....392 E. 25th St, the first house in off 9th Ave towards 10th.

Thanks for all the great pictures including Patsy's Tavern. I noticed you had Sussmans Drugs, but not the Jewish Deli across the street. When I was a kid I worked at Joe's shoemaker shop on the same block as Sussmans.

Your Uncle Carmen and your grandmother look exactly as I remember them. Carmen must have been a saint to have put up with us.
Best regards,
Ralph LePera

Hi! I was looking for a recipe for Banana Nut Bread and saw your WW post. Then I noticed that you are an 8 month Breast Cancer survivor. In March of this year I will be a 4 year survivor. Besides prayer and the grace of God, humor has been the best medicine. So I now have breast that will never sag. I also live on the coast (Gulf Shores, AL) and breast cancer did not keep me off the beach. I remember going to the beach with no hair and one breast till I had reconstruction. May God bless you and keep you and your family during this time.

Ran across your website from the WW message boards. Your name NCBeaches caught my eye. I spent part of my summers growing up on Wrightsville Beach. My grandparent's lived in Wilmington (well, Castle Hayne really). They passed away and I haven't been there in several years.

Your pictures of places (Dockside, Pilot House and the beaches) brought tears to my eyes. I'm from Indiana, but Wilmington is definitely my second home.

Oh, and I was once an extra on Matlock (saw you had the courthouse on there).

:)

WOW! Thanks for the wonderful photos.
Nice of you to share your life with us.

I want to thank you for signing the Paterson People Network (PPN) guestbook and linking to this site.

Like many Patersonians I also have fond memories of the old neighborhood and Paterson.
It's nice to see people reconnect and make new friends on sites like this.

My neighborhood was the Brooks Sloate Terrace projects in the Totowa section of the city and made the Brook Sloat (spelling is different from the true name) site.

Thank you Linda,
Bern

Enjoyed your photos very much. I was born in St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, raised in Upper Ridgewood and Glen Rock, went swimming at the Arcola Pool, attended Willard School in Ridgewood and Richard E. Byrd school in Glen Rock. You brought back many memories. My last address in Glen Rock was 100 Rock Road about 1/4 mile from the big rock which gave the place its name. deaston11@adelphia.net

Hi Linda,
Thanks for the nice comments on my Paterson pictures.
I love the nostalgic look of your pictures then and now. You get an innocent 'American Graffiti flavor to them without trying. Very nice
I have lived Westchester NY and the south for many years and have become a NJ resident again for sometime now and once and a while venture back to Paterson to do some shooting.
I'll have to check out your other galleries soon.
Best,
Vince B.
