Blanket Chests

Blanket chests were common pieces of furniture in early American colonial homes. American made chests were typically constructed with domestic hardwoods or pine and sometimes decorated with simple incised carvings or painted with folk art motifs. My versions use a wide variety of veneers and solid hardwood trim pieces with the blanket well and lid fully lined with aromatic cedar. The decorative front panels display traditional quilt squares done in marquetry. Approximate size is 3 1/2"wide x 3 1/8"high x 1 5/8"deep.
