During May 2013, Jane and I took a 17-day tour of Great Britain and Ireland. The countryside was absolutely gorgeous. An unseasonably cool spring, had delayed the spring bloom by 4 to 6 weeks, so we were treated to cherry trees in bloom, wild daffodils and a host of other beautiful plants. The countryside was a mosaic of yellow gorse which was complementary to the yellow rape fields in the landscape. And our fellow travelers were a pleasure to be around. We saw many, many sights during the tour although none in much detail. As our Cherryl Duke, our tour director put, we experienced a sip of much, but a swallow of little. All and all, not a bad format.
