Walking along the bank of the Singapore River, you will come across this eye-catching and controversial sculpture called the 'Living World' by renowned Taiwanese sculptor Ju Ming at Riverside Point. The sculpture was acquired by the Singapore History Museum in 1987 with contributions from the public and the Trans-Island Bus Service (TIBS) company, as part of the Museum's centennial celebrations. The life-sized sculpture was created from a mixture of ceramic, bronze and wood, and designed to capture the public's attention and enliven the space around it. Previously located at the Singapore History Museum's premises at Stamford Road, it was relocated here to mark the Museum's temporary move to Riverside Point, while the main premises of the Museum at Stamford Road undergoes extensive renovation.
