Moonstruck (1987)
Cranberry Street and the Promenade are the backdrop for this Brooklyn fairy tale starring Cher in her Oscar-winning role as the widowed Loretta who is determined to get love and marriage right. Nicolas Cage plays her tormented lover whose soul-searching monologues showcase pre-action-hero Cage at his quirky genius best. Olympia Dukakis also won an Oscar for her performance as Loretta's suffering yet sassy Italian mother. Directed by Norman Jewison.
