Fran and Homer got married today and it was a wonderful event.
It was a perfect union between two individuals with such warmth in their hearts.
But, for today's portrait, I hope to honor the love that parents hold for their children. And, during a time of transition such as a wedding, this love is so boldly highlighted. I look at the expression held on Fran's father's face and I see such joy and sorrow at the same time. The joy of seeing his daughter transition into such a potentially enriching stage of life is tempered somewhat by the sadness of having to let someone he loves so much go. And it is dealing with this dichotomy that reveals strength in character.
It is easy to see from where Fran and Homer have learned to love.
