We visited a Buddhist temple in New York State today with Grandma who is visiting from Taiwan. It was a beautiful place, nestled in the vibrant colors of autumn.
I still have very little understanding of Buddhism. My parents were both raised as Buddhists but they have left me to find my own spiritual path. I could, however, appreciate the beauty of this place and the effort required to create it.
There were ten thousand of these small statues, but the light shining through the window chose to warm only a few at a time. Perhaps that is the way of faith and religion. Perhaps I'll find my window to look towards one day.
