Thanks for your comment Gareth. In answer to your question the image recorded by your camera is only the start of the process. You need to learn how to post process to bring out the best in your images. Think of the recorded image as being like a sort of negative. All the information is there but it needs a little work in the digital darkroom to bring it out and of course there is an almost infinite variation in your end result depending on what you adjust.
Always keep your original files in case you mess up as you can always start again. As your skills develop you will find you will go back to some of your earlier work.

I wish I knew how to take these types of photo. I own a Fuji 6900 and I am about to buy a 9500 but I have never got this kind of colour. The photos are great.
