I like your gallery and your Pasotes....Ezapote. We live in the next island west of your island of Cebu in Negros . In Dauin, Negros Oriental. My Filipina wife of 24 years and I have returned to set up a beach side Mexican/Brasilian restaurant for helping raise funds for the Olympic-style boxing program we are establishing here.
We have brought seeds from the USA, however none germenated . Our cilantro is doing nicely and peppers too.
Can you advise us as to where in Carcar we can find some plants to bring across from your home land?
We are also teaching a course in Collegiate boxing at Silliman with fellow volunteer, America's coach of the years 1972,1976,1977, Joe Clough...many great boxers...Gold Medalists at the Olympic's at Montreal and Munich, and named Mohammad Ali's gyms head coach 1978-1980 in Santa Monica. My wife Hedi, and I are National Judges of ABAP and ABANO, as well as USA Boxing. Our first World Champion, Roberto Garcia from Oxnard's famed La Colonia Boxing Club is Nonito Donnaire and Brian Viloria's boxing coach in USA. Our other kid Fernando Vargas was also a World Champ. We ran the club in Oxnard in the early 1990's.
We also founded the Yuma County Youth Boxing Association...a non profit in Yuma, AZ...and ran our businessin Sonora, Mexico in San Luis Rio Colorado at the borders with CA-AZ-SONORA-BAJA CA.
