Nice work, Unfortunately you missed the best NZ city (wellington of course), but at least you will have an excuse to return!

Jean,
I just had to look at your New Zealand pictures. Terrific! Ron, Renee and I just watched Whale Rider last night. I didn't know you went to Antarctica. More shots from there would have been cool! What a chance you have to travel now. Keep it up. Any chance of coming toward the West?

Jean--an interesting panorama of New Zealand. I'd love to catch a fish then boil it in a natural hot spring. And just what do they offer in those banks??
Happy Halloween.
Barbara
The temperature in that room was below freezing -- jackets and boots were provided for those entering.
The bulging eyes and protruding tongue are standard Maori gestures for frightening foe. Yes, they're used in "Whale Rider," as well as in an old Ngaio Marsh mystery, where young people who had lived in NZ greet an arriving Kiwi friend at the dock in Southhampton with the same facial gesture.

Hi Jean,
Your gallery photos are indeed a fresh breath of spring except for the Antarctica preparations. How cold was it? The photo of the warrior's bulging eyeballs and protruding tongue remind me of the scene in the Niki Caro's recent film, Whale Rider, about the Maori culture.
Thank you, Jean, for sharing these photos. Happy Halloween to you, too.
