Found a comment online, followed link to your site. Really enjoyed the Syracuse Lacrosse and Football pictures. Forwarded your link to a buddy in Manlius.

Thank You for standing on a cold frozen lake in February taking pictures of a bunch of nuts racing on a frozen lake. This particular nut says thanks. I drove cars# 22 Black VW, No number Red Neon RT, Silver Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo # 5 .

Saw your post on DPS (sports photography) and followed the link to your photos. Very nice NYC pics (I am about 40 minutes from mid town). Recently purchased a D200 so I have to "Learn" that camera. Any tips beyond the article for a sports guy?
Nice work!

Just spent a little time looking around your galleries, great stuff! I saw you recently got a 70-300 VR, what do you think of it?

Happy shooting!

I shot at ISO 1600 because most of the places I was shooting was fairly dark. I should have dropped it down a bit when I went out on the walkway, but I often forget to either bump it up or drop it back down when going from dark to light areas like the rainforest. Another 'training' item for me.

Thanks for your comment on my Monteverde Fern!
First I used Lightroom to crop and bring out the blacks and added some luminance to the red. This can be seen here http://www.pbase.com/jengle/image/72910340

Second update was to take the Lightroom version into Photoshop and soften the background using Blur tool, then smudged it a bit along with the vine in the lower right corner. Then I dodged the light areas of the background. I thought I liked the vine in the bottom right, esp. with the moss tendril creeping around it. Hmmm. The second version is posted here http://www.pbase.com/jengle/image/72909801
