My nephew asked me to do his senoir portraits, but my 10D is in the shop. I did some test shots using my two Alien Bees with my 4.0 MP Canon point and shoot. I'm surprised they came out this good. I expected to have to tell him I can do it unil my camera comes back, which would be past the deadline to get his senior portraits to the school.
The only trouble I had was not being able to adjust the white balance in degrees Kelvin, to match the Alien Bees. I had to process in BW due to the color cast.
