Upper Lena Lake - Sept 2005

Upper Lena Lake is located in the southeastern corner of the Olympic National Park at the end rugged trail that seems much longer than its measured 7 miles. It sits at an elevation of 4600', flanked, north and south, by Mt. Lena and Mt. Bretherton. To the west, a trail meanders over a low ridge, through meadows of heather and low-bush huckleberry, past numerous small lakes and tarns, on its way to Scout Lake, Mt Stone, and points beyond. On a sunny autumn day, when the huckleberries are ripe.....................
