Our next adventure on this trip is to drive down to Valdez, Alaska and take a glacier cruise. We went with the Stan Stephens Glacier & Wildlife Cruises both because of its good reputation, and because we had a 2-for-1 coupon in the Great Alaskan Toursaver book. As it turned out, we got some great wildlife shots, but the wind blocked off the area of the glacier with tons of floating ice, so the closest we actually got to Columbia Glacier was about 8-9 miles away. Fortunately, later glacier cruises out of Whittier and on Portage Lake provided the close up to glacier from water that I was looking for. However, we were not disappointed on this trip as the scenery and wildlife were fantastic!
