After leaving Monument Valley, we drove to Canyon de Chelly and drove along the South Rim. On the way home from there, we were about to pass right by the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest when we decided on one more detour! It was a very long day! :)

BTW: The way to get bright colors on petrified logs is to wet them, so if you go there, take extra water!
