After arriving in Hawaii late in the afternoon, we were picked up early the next morning by a van from Hawaii Forest & Trail (www.hawaii-forest.com/index.php/tours/kilauea_volcano) for an all day Kilauea Volcano Tour. It was a good way to get familiar with the current state of flows as well as history. It was a great tour. This is where the driver took us for our pre-packaged sandwich lunches. We sat on lava flows that came from Mauna Ulu in the early 70's, with a great view of the cliffs at the coast.
