This was a VERY quick trip to Hawaii to see the lava spewing from fissure 8 in Leilani Estates, in Pahoa, Hawaii and flowing from there 8-miles to the sea. I reserved a doors-off helicopter trip for early Thursday and Saturday and a lava boat tour for early Friday. That was the plan, but things did NOT go according to plan!

I have sorted the photos posted here into three subfolders. The first covers the first two full days of my trip. It includes scenics and the Lava Boat, but no helicopter flights! The second is of my helicopter flight on Saturday morning (not the one I scheduled), and scenics. The third is of a chartered helicopter flight late Saturday afternoon/evening (also not what I had scheduled).
