After leaving Yellowstone, we planned a very brief visit to Craters of the Moon National Monument in Idaho and then on to Caldwell, ID for our last night on the road. We did “mostly” follow that plan, but ended up taking much longer at Craters of the Moon NM then we planned. Along with the interesting Visitor Center, we drove the loop Road in the park and went on a couple of short hikes. It was well worth it. The campground there also looks very interesting and we will plan on staying there some time.
