Canada, and Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, July, 1976
This was our first two week vacation visiting National Parks. We lived in Southern California at the time, and towed a 13 foot Oasis trailer that belonged to my in-laws. It had an Icebox in it, and that meant you put a block of ice in it! Anyway, we went up I-5 and then into Canada where we went through their Glacier, Yoho, Kootenay, Banff, and Jasper National Parks. We then came down through Waterton Lakes National Park into the US Glacier National Park. Finally we went down through Yellowstone National Park before heading back to Southern California. These are very old photos that we have rescanned from the negatives. Though some are still very good, others are more for memories. I had a Nikkormat EL with a 50 mm and a 500 mm lens (mirror f8), and even a huge Tokina or Vivitar 800 mm (not a mirror lens) lens I had gotten from an uncle, along with a heavy tripod I purchased. So, a normal lens and two long telephotos lenses, with nothing in between! Still, I think we got some great photos. We even got charged by a mother Grizzly with cubs!
