This is an area our son wanted to take us to before we saw the ruins in Mesa Verde. While the ruins in Mesa Verde are much larger and more extensive, he wanted us to see this as it has not been repaired/modified by the park service. This Cedar Mesa area may become part of a "Bears Ears National Monument", as there are a number of groups pushing for it. After finishing the hike in Cedar Mesa, we headed further south to an area called Muley Point, and then drove down a narrow gravel road called Moki Dugway and down to Mexican Hat for dinner before heading back to our lodging at the Far View Lodge in Mesa Verde NP.
