Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, September 2016

After leaving Granby, Colorado, we headed to Grand Canyon of the Gunnison NP, just East of Montrose, Colorado. I have included a few photos of Aspen Trees from the highway along the way there. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison is a very narrow and deep canyon cut by the Gunnison River. The "Painted Wall" in the canyon is almost 2,300 feet tall, and is the highest cliff in Colorado. It is about twice as high as the Empire State Building!
