Sycamore Canyon, AZ and Two National Monuments, May 2016
I flew down to Arizona to meet my son Kevin for a hike into the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Area. We, along with Kevin's friend Dan and his dog Pico, hiked in along Parsons Trail about 4.5 miles to find a campsite (a closer one was already taken). While not that long a hike overall, it was a hard hike that included 6-7 stream crossings and the last portion of the hike on a boulder strewn streambed. Still it was a beautiful hike! Then after coming back from there, and a night back in a real bed, we stopped at Tuzigoot National Monument and Montezuma Castle (and Well) National Monument before heading back to Phoenix. There we had a great dinner at Taco Mich before heading to the airport.
