Chino Hills State Park, California
Over the centuries, many people have made use of the open spaces and plentiful water, plant and animal resources of the Chino Hills.
the Tongva (Gabrielino) Indians, the Spanish, Mexican ranchos.
After Mexico ceded California to the United States in 1848, the land continued to be used for cattle,oil exploration and mining activity.
In 1984 the State Park and Recreation Commission officially declared the area a unit of the State Park System.
