These remind me of the France in which I lived for a year 65-66. I feel sad when I see photos of the Paris skyline cluttered with high rise structures. It is a loss to the unique culture of many countries. Your images are filled with beautiful color and details. Voted.

A fantastic gallery Jean Claude. I´m really impressed. I love the idea (the most important aspect in photography nowdays) and the execution. The absence of people reinforce the atmosphere. Also the square format is great. It resembles me an exhibition that I have seen recently, with huge photographs : http://annamalagrida.com/escaparates.htm I would do an effort of synthesis, chosen less images for the gallery, buy I know is always difficult. My congratulations ! V

A wonderful Gallery. As I looked at them I was NOT reminded of decay...but of Life. Each of these establishments had a "Day One"...when the Shopkeeper and his family anxiously and excitedly opened the doors for their "First Day of Business. To provide for the Community and for their family...THAT is LIFE...which will ALWAYS find new ways to succeed. That which is NEW...will become OLD...BUT New life will continue to Blossom. This is such a great document. I commented on many individual shots earlier, but putting them together here has much added value. That value is of course historical and architectural documentation, but there is also added value for supporting the collective memory of generations and even as a source of inspiration for building esthetics. v!

This is a very eye opening gallery. I have always worried about this as more of US only problem, but sadly it is a problem everywhere. Very well photographed.

A very well done documentary. It seems a worldwide phenomenon. It's happening in not only in the small family stores, but in the service industry as well...as large corporations first strangle smaller business and then they will squeeze us all when they have the control...and no idle threat indeed.
