Blending dance, gymnastics and aerial acrobatics into a beautiful and breathtaking art form, Arachne Aerial Arts captivates an audience with a display of grace and daring athleticism. Vivid memories of dramatic climbs, twists, falls and spins last long after the performance ends. Based in Washington, DC, Arachne Aerial Arts has performed in the world-famous Kennedy Center, Corcoran Gallery, National Building Museum, and numerous theaters and studios around the mid-Atlantic region.
Flying together since 2000, co-directors Andrea Burkholder and Sharon Witting have continued their intensive training at the New England Center for Circus Arts with Elsie Smith and Serenity Smith Forchion, former members of the world famous Cirque du Soleil. When not on stage, I learned that Arachne Aerial Arts is available for events and providing special workshops and aerial arts instruction.
