It depends upon your philosophy. You self-build--you look elsewhere, like Surly. Rivendell says they'll listen to your input, but they'll take years and they're very certain that they know better than I do about what I need. I, for one, always believe in alternatives to over-valued gold plate and orthodoxy: That belief never dissapoints--it's a shining star that guides me through life!

And it does not cost anywhere near what they charge for a Rivendell - less than a third of the R price @ $420..
