I was looking to find an idea for embroidering a swallow on a piece of line tissue for my home...I hope my work could be as exceptionnal as your work to take this photo!!!

Hi Robert, and thanks for your comments. The background is a wooded area of mostly hardwood deciduous trees, and is located about 100 yards behind the subject. The distance to the background blurs the shape of the trees, but I still worked to avoid any broad patterns in color or light. This was shot around one week before the new leaves appeared, and in the last hour or so before sunset with a slight haze, which turned the tree-trunks into golden-brown.

The perch, if anyone wonders, is a dried-up stalk of Butterfly Weed from last year's garden jammed into the top of a pole.

Amazing clarity in this shot. Love that brown background as well. Is that a lake?
