Priming Tobacco in Rural North Carolina

This project is an offshoot of my work in rural North Carolina. These photographs are from the priming or "picking" of the tobacco on a 3 generation family farm in the piedmont area of NC.
The workers are mainly migrant workers brought over through government programs and several have returned to the same farm for many years.
