Conowingo Dam is located in northeastern Maryland on the Susquehanna River just northwest of where the river drains into the Chesapeake Bay. The main attraction at the dam are the bald eagles who congregate there in the winter. According to people who have been multiple times, on some days as many as 40 eagles, in various stages of maturity, fly back and forth from the towers, over the water and into the woods. While there weren't quite that many eagles when I went, there were both adults and juveniles flying and fishing.
