light in darkness, that defines the dark half of the year. and for me November is the darkest month. the year is waning but there are no twinkly holiday lights; the weather here is gray and the trees scraped clean, but there is no snow. after years of futile resistance (resistance is futile), I've learned to ride the waves as they come, and look for the light in the darkness. I become tiny embers in the ashes of the year.
