sometimes...

Newport, RI

...you just gotta get out of the city. We took my grandmother to the Inn at Castle Hill for her birthday today. Wonderful brunch. But the best part was the weather -- we were actually able to walk around by the water without being blast frozen. Now I just need two more weeks exactly like those few hours (maybe a little warmer).

John, that is the Newport Bridge, connecting Aquidneck and Conanicut Islands. I don't know if I would call it special. Except in a good noreaster it's the largest moving manmade object.

Yes Jason, wasn't Sunday just perfect, weatherwise?
Saturday was still somewhat pissy and gloomy, Sunday dawned beautifully and we enjoyed 70F temps, Monday it was freezing, and on Tuesday, it snowed for a half hour!!! Crazy. But Sunday was gorgeous. This is what I saw Sunday:

Been a long time since we "spoke", I hope you're well :)

Jason, is that special bridge, or just another crossing.

You won't believe this, but I was going to write almost the same words Lee wrote. Dang.

What a great view to have while brunching, looks like a perfect day. The colors are so vivid and crisp, nice capture!
Good luck with that order for more warm days, after all that cold and wet weather I'm sure a well deserved thaw out is in your future!
