This gallery is dedicated to my Dad, Eugene Ray Scott.
Dad was a pilot for Eastern Airlines for more than 35 years.
He grew up in West Virginia in the 1920’s and 30’s, and got his pilot’s license as soon as he able to do so.
Before WW II he did some stunt flying and had some wonderful stories to tell us about those days.
During the war he flew for Pan American, shuttling supplies to American forces in Africa. After WW II,
he joined Eastern Airlines, which was then headed by Eddie Rickenbacker, the famous WW I ace.
He ended up as one of Eastern’s most senior pilots before he had to retire, by FAA regulations, at age 60.
Dad died on August 1, 2004 of Alzheimer’s disease, but we lost him years before the disease actually took his life.

I was always proud to tell people that my father was a pilot, and every time I fly I think of my Dad and how he saw the world from the sky.
