Bob and I spent 10 days in Arizona at the end of 2014. The first five days we stayed in Sierra Vista and Tucson and visited as many wildlife refuges as we would in that amount of time. We used the Tucson Audubon birding guide, "Finding Birds in Southeast Arizona" to locate good spots. We tallied over 115 bird species, pretty good for winter. The second five days, which included Christmas, we were part of a family reunion which took place in Fountain Hills, near Scottsdale. 17 of us showed up, and we had a grand time.
