A Trip to France to Visit World War I Battle Sites

Bob and I made a trip to France in August 2015, mainly to learn more about World War I by visiting battle sites and cemeteries. We spent the first two days in Paris, and visited Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle and Montmartre. We spent much of our time on a barge cruising along the Marne River and stopping many times along the way. Before starting the journey along the Marne River we cruised a bit along Seine and had views of the Eiffel Tower and other well known sites. Besides learning about WW I we enjoyed many delicious meals on the barge, and were very comfortable in our cabin. We enjoyed views of the countryside, and got some good looks at birds along the way. It was another very nice Road Scholar trip with a very knowledgeable leader and some very nice companions.
